Gurus,
Has anyone used the product SQL Lite Speed for their
backups? If so, can anyone give me an idea of how the
product is...we are evaluating its use and would like some
industry opinion on it.
Thanks for your help,
SumeshSumesh...
We've recently implemented SQL LiteSpeed on a number of our production and d
evelopment servers. I would highly recommend it to anyone that has large SQ
L databases. We have a ~44Gb database and with SQL LiteSpeed the backup fil
e is under 6Gb!!!! The int
erface is just another MMC snap-in, so it integrates well with Enterprise Ma
nager. Technical Support is VERY responsive and friendly. It's not appropr
iate for SQL Servers that don't house large databases, but for the bigger on
es it's a necessity.
sean|||It works very well, but I came across a few gotchas that I can't
remember right now, I think it was to do with converting maintenance
plans. Anyway, it's probably fixed now. I would highly recommend it, an
excellent product. I have used it on our data warehouse. You need to
switch fiber mode off.
