I have barcode printing formula in my report. When the report runs,it
does not print the barcode , just prints the barcode text with some additional characters in the begining and end of the text.Is there any file missing in cryatal to print that barcode ? If yes then whats the name of this file ?Are you using formula to print barcode inside report file?? :confused:
If you want to use 1-D barcode, why don't you use barcode font.sql

barcode missing when printing from reporting services
I am using a barcode font 39 to generate barcodes in some reports. If I
reader the report and save it to a excel spreedsheet and print then the
report prints fine with the barcode.
If while I am in the browser I use the reporting services print engine the
barcode comes out as the numbers ie *12345* instead of the barcode font. The
numbers also come up in the preview of the printing.

I had the same problem. I wish Microsoft would release a fix to the problem
but I found a work-around by making the textbox (that holds the barcode in
the [rdl]) 3 times larger than the required size. This will of course mess
up your design.

but I found a work-around by making the textbox (that holds the barcode in

I need to print barcodes from a field and cantinate an * at the begining and

Barcode Font can not be converted into PDF format
Hi All,
I installed one truetype fonts "Bar Code 39" in my PC under folder
c:\windows\fonts. I used this font for bar code print purpose. It can work
perfect if I print the report direct to printer, or export it into
TIFF/EXCEL format. However, if i want to convert the report into PDF file,
then I could not find the bar code in the PDF file.
Any idea?

I'm using a free barcode font so i can create scannable tickets via reporting services 2k5. When I print the tickets, everything seems fine. But when i export to PDF though, it looks like the barcode font shrunk. All the lines are pulled together, making scanning impossible. Is there a certain setting or so that i can use to ensure the font's width ?

I hate to say this, but we really did nothing to resolve the issue. Nor did I get any replies for this issue.
We just restarted the SSRS server for some reason and after that we found that it was working fine. I would suggest that you give it a shot restart the server and it may click in your case also.

|||I have seen several barcode fonts that do not include the correct spacing or at least do not report the correct spacing through the Win32 APIs our PDF renderer calls. It's also very possible we have a bug in that area.

|||In my own experience, the barcod39.ttf TrueType font renders properly in every renderer except pdf. In pdf, it appears to arbitrarily expand spaces to fill the control.
I'd love to see that fixed.

|||In my own experience, the barcod39.ttf TrueType font renders properly in every renderer except pdf. In pdf, it appears to arbitrarily expand spaces to fill the control.
I'd love to see that fixed.

Barcode font "shrinks" during PDF export
Hi all,
I'm using a free barcode font so i can create scannable tickets via reporting services 2k5. When I print the tickets, everything seems fine. But when i export to PDF though, it looks like the barcode font shrunk. All the lines are pulled together, making scanning impossible. Is there a certain setting or so that i can use to ensure the font's width ?

The weird thing is: when i export it inside visual studio, the barcode is shown as it is supposed to in the pdf !?

|||Did you try to change the Report Properties to set the margin to 0 ?And make sure your design area does not exceed the paper size set in the property box and exactly fit the paper format on the printer?
I am myself having trouble with pdf page exported from ReportManager not be not too accurate. Kind of a hit and miss trial and error page set-up formating process until it gets right.
Reporting Services is not doing an excellent job at printing things, not from a typography point of view.
Any improvement would be more than welcome.

I hate to say this, but we really did nothing to resolve the issue. Nor did I get any replies for this issue.
We just restarted the SSRS server for some reason and after that we found that it was working fine. I would suggest that you give it a shot restart the server and it may click in your case also.

|||I have seen several barcode fonts that do not include the correct spacing or at least do not report the correct spacing through the Win32 APIs our PDF renderer calls. It's also very possible we have a bug in that area.

Barcode doesn't print from reports server
Hi there,
Ok, so I have a report that is generating product labels on a standard mailing lable sheet (30 of them on a 8.5X11 sheet of stock). The whole process works just fine even the printing of the bar codes when I am printing the lables from VS2005's Preview function. However, when I moved the report to our reports server and run the same report, the barcodes don't print out. I have checked, and the barcode font has been installed on the server.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! - Eric-
Can you tell me how you got the labels to print correctly.
I can't seem to get mine lined up. I am trying to print Avery 5160 which is also 30 labels.

THe only caveat to using this product is if you upgrade it you need to go back and upgrade all your other reports that use the older version.
the product is neodynamic barcode professional 3.0 for reporting services.|||is there any method which I can use to convert a dll designed for windows forms, to web forms.
this is a free dll supplied by ID automation.

I am new in SQL RS. I want to print bar codes on my report. Is it
possible with RS ? Do I need external procedure ? Any suggestion will
be welcome !

In one of our projects I ran into the same requirement and was able to
handle it very easily with a barcode font. There are a number of sources
barcode fonts on the Internet which you can find quickly using the search
engine of your choice. Once you install the barcode font on your system you
can just select it in the report designer and your reports will display
barcodes. Just remember that any system running the report that uses the
barcode font will have to have the barcode font installed in order for them
to work.

Bad print performance on HP Laserjet?
Hi,
I've finished working on reports (RS2000) and tested them on several printers, mostly OKI printers, which worked perfectly.
I've deployed these reports and now I'm getting calls from the customer that these reports are not good when performed on a HP Laserjet 2100:
- The print is processed very slow
- The text versus grid is not good aligned
- Every time a print job is submitted there has to be pressed on the button of the printer
I've suggested trying to install an other driver (PostScript, PCL 5.0, ...), but that didn't helped.
Is this a known bug? Is there a workaround here? Thank you.
As a follow-up: this problem was solved when I visited the customer and tried another printer driver in Windows XP.
