Bar chart point label missing

I'm having problems with the point label on the bar nearest the x-axis of a
bar chart. All the other bars have the correct point label, displayed to the
right of the bar, but this one does not display anything.
I have tried changing:
a) the sort order of the underlying dataset so that a different value is at
this location on the chart
b) the font size of the point label
c) the point label format
d) the point label position - auto on/off, different positions when manually
selected
all to no avail.
Any suggestions?Solved the problem by ticking the side margins option for the x-axis.
